Who Is Your Best Friend- IO Question

images+%25281%2529
Who is your best friend? What do you see in someone to make him/her your friend?? you must be facing this question in your personal interview in Services selection board, although this question looks simple but makes lot of sense . Now what is the need of asking such type of question by an interviewer, do  he wants to know what kind of friends you have and what kind of qualities they possess , I don’t think an interviewer wants to know about your friends and their qualities but it is all about you.

Here your answer matters and shows your maturity level, how? Armed forces are related to very confidential matters and someone who makes friends without knowing about them can create problems  for the organization . Here we are talking about your friends qualities , take a simple quality as an example mmm say ” honesty” if you say a person should be honest then its good that you make a person who is honest but honesty with whom and in what ??? also how do you check someone’s honesty ? this is next question you will face …:)

But if you take your personal life encounters with a stranger did you every try to know about your ….classmate or bench mates  honesty level , Yes or No ? I guess most of you don’t think of such things because we trust our friends and we never judge a person on honesty level and then make him/her a friend . Whenever you answer try to think first or close your eyes and think now, if your answer something which is correct and not just pre- planned lines then it will make interviewer more attentive and interested towards you and your life incidents.

Suppose if you like someone who makes you laugh and a cool guy/gal looks different from others , not selfish , don’t have bad habits , dosto ka dost yaro ka yaar wali baat, don’t you see all these stuffs ?? So probebly this is not the answer for everybody but what I mean is, try to be more open and correct while answering such questions . Hope you will react to this post and this post badly needs your comments so post your comments and answers in the comment box below .

    • At jitesh & ashima we can purchase some particular items depending upon the needful things required by the poor people or can build restroom for the poor as they generally lack it or we can look for some good NGO(Working for poor) have there records checked and invest the same in that.
We can also give it to our parent’s and let them deposit the same in bank , if we are not supposed to do it.

  1. sir, interviewer asked me a question like this, you have 10 lac in your hand , you cant distribute that money among poor and deposit that money in a bank how do you manage that money, why such type of questions are asked and how we have to answer such type question? pl guide me, this is my 6 th time am out from conference , pl reply

  3. @admin.
My current affairs and GK is very weak.Coz since my childhood i have never read newspapers and also never saw news on TV. But since last 1 year i am working on it ,i have improved a bit. I want to know what should i do to improve on my current affairs and GK. plz post the categories or topics which are mostly asked in ssb .thank u

  4. @admin.
I am an MBA and have been working since last 1 and a half yr.I appeared in Army SSB in June 2011 but got screened out.I have my AFSB lined up in March 2012.I met one of the psychologist from AFSB recently, he asked me why i wanted to join Airforce.Though i answered this question but i was my self not convinced with it.Later i thought about it but didn’t get a good answer. Why airforce after MBA?How should i go about it?

  5. @Shrey you should improve your communication skills , also be calm and relax and think before speaking anything , it will reduce the chances of getting fumble. Though its not necessary that fumbling will hamper your chances , the real thing is whether you know your weakness ( fumbling) and what are you doing to improve it, hope you understand what I mean.

  6. @Shrey

Yes it will work if they actually matches with your personality. One should prepare for the questions he/she going to face in the Interview, there is nothing wrong in that, but also you should not speak as soon as something is asked to you because it shows you don’t think after listening to a question and speaking whatever you have prepared for Interview as it is. All you need to do is listen to the question carefully then think for 5 secs ” manage your words and contents” according to the question asked to you. It will give you confidence also you will do less mistakes.

  7. Hello admin..!! Do you think that pre-planned ideas n responses for a particular question rules out one’s chances of getting recommended?? Last time I was at ssb, I had sudden answers to the I/O’s questions. However, I want to prepare myself with some pre-planned responses which are very true in reality.Would that help??

  8. @ Gaurav

Search online for Naxalism, try to get basic knowledge first if you are interested in it then go for depth. Current affairs topics are just to check whether your are familiar with the current happening in our country or not. Try to have some information about current affairs, but if you do not know then you answer must be ” I don’t have much idea about it sir ” then you may face the next question .

  9. @ Rakshit: Why do you want to join us ? this answer must be from your heart, you should tell him why you want to join with the actual reason behind it. Do not makeup your lines, because assessors are very experienced, be natural be normal..if its fame, respect , good salary, pride, passion, adventure, uniform, beautiful girls coz of uniform.. whatever answer must be ORIGINAL..

Rakshit as you said you are good in GK then you must know most of the topics, else you should say that your interested in GK and love to gain knowledge, you you admit that your good in GK then you have to prove it…

  10. @admin: sir, interviewer also asks some questions of current events. What should be the questions which can be asked these days?
And one very common question is ”what is naxalism?’
what can be the appropriate answer for this question?

  11. @admin: sir as i am good in general knowledge, n he asks me to discuss sm topic with him, somehow i have least knowledge about that topic, if i say that i have less info of this, then that shows i am not perfect, and if i discuss it without facts, that gvs a wrong sense.
what should be done in such situation?

  12. thanks sir, for your important suggestion………. ..
sir, i just want to ask another question which was asked from me ” should women be granted permanent commision in army or not”? and i wasnt able to give any satisfactory answer. please help

  13. I have many friends. But all those are close to me whom i know very well.My close friends are simple people who live life fullest with positive approach towards life, in case any hurdle bravely overcome them and easily manage different situations. My close friends are loyal in relations, helpful in need. My close friends are also traditional.

  14. neutral people are called just frnds 2 me..my best and closest frends are both +ve and -ve in attitude..the former frens motivate me inspire me 2 succeed in lyf..and i do d same 2 the latter frns

  15. Rajat you must be knowing better what is the biggest achievement and failure in your life. Think of it and say what ever you think is correct, don’t be so deceptive from your originality. What ever you think is biggest achievement and failure, again don’t think that only this questions decides your candidature in SSB, No the whole 5 days testing decides it and its just a normal question which should be answered correctly and in normal fashion. They asked your achievement and failures so what ever you answer is the only correct answer 🙂

  16. Rajat Sharma you can say that you love to play few games but you are not so much interested in them, because you like other activities and you won many prizes in them. Mention about something you have done like paper presentation , seminar , technical fest, dance, singing , drawing anything. But also say that you love to play cricket(example) but you are not so much professional in that, also you love play sports to enjoy it and keep yourself fit and you are not deep into it. Rajat its not compulsory that you should have some achievement in sports, we all are different from each other. Different likes and dislikes, but yes you should at least participate in school or college level if not in high level .

  17. In interview and conference,i have been asked this question always that what is the biggest achievement and failure in my life? So,sir please guide us,how to answer this question.

  18. Sir, i scored 81.8% in 10th,72.6% in 12th, and 70.3% in B.tech.I gave NDA exam after 12th but was not able to clear it.I didnt gave any entrance except IIT.I got admission in Engineering through Management quota on basis of my % in 12th.I participated lot in extracurricular activities but not in sports activities.Interviewer always asks me why i did not achieve anything in sports.

  19. Hello Saurabh do not make such excuse that you went for NDA exam, coz it shows that you can’t manage things. You can say that in 12th I started taking part in sports and other co curricular activities, I use to manage my game as well as my study at the same time. If you have taken tuition in 12th you can mention that also, like how you use to manage time. At last if asked whether you are satisfied with your marks then you should say yes, because you got marks according to hard work you have done.

  20. sir i got 81% in my class 10th and then 71 in claas 12th….. now i m going to give my nda ssb…… sir i am confused about what i answer them about my decrease in percentage. the reason was i went to give my nda ssb right before the board exams.
but giving such an answer may go against me as they may take it as an excuse sir please give any suggestion.

  21. i read d question nd d first thing which came to my mind waz-banda mast hona chahiye, maaze krna wala nd no douubt i wud hav said d same thing if my interviewer asks dis!! hopefully it’ll work!! 😛 😛

  22. yes u r right,, i was involved in many extra curricular activities as well.. organised many things which i didnt mentioned ..
i am a sportsperson from the very beginning..
this part i didnt convey them..
thanks sir. i hope this will help me out this SSB.
    thanks for your valuable information.

  23. Simar Gill first of all do not think you low academic record is the sole reason for non recommendation , yes there is a much deviation in your academics but it must have some reason, like change of place, family problem, taking part in other activities like sports. Doing 18 months job may be because of bad financial condition or private experience. You can show strong qualities from such questions, never think that you didn’t do well in exams , because you are a average student and you know it, may be you are a good sports person or good at painting. You know your actual qualities, thinks what other good activities you were doing during 12th and tell them that you managed your studies and others activities at the same time.Tell them you use to do part time job with you BE if you did so or something else which improves your personality. Educational record is not the sole criteria to select of reject a student . Think why an interviewer ask you such questions ? because they just want to test you how you feel about you , about you academic, and always say that you are satisfied with your academic record because you got the marks according to your preparation. But never say that you don’t like studies and got less marks, but say that you were doing other extra curricular activities also with your studies.

  24. @admin: sir, i have a very much diversification in my studies and variation in my marks, each time i am interviewed i am stuck on this part as well. and messed up my interview.
can u please suggest me with your best answers if possible to my quiries?
Details of me: done BE in 2007, done job for 18 months, then completed MBA this year. in 10th i got 78%, 10+2 got 51%. BE got 60% .
please help me out with this part rest i had dne in all the tests.
even during conference they ask on this part only and i cant come to consensus.

  25. Rajat you may have many friends but when it comes to close friends you can’t say you have plenty. Also tell about a friend who is close to you and you are still in contact, it helps you to tell things about him.her. You have school friends also, that’s good, you can say that you call to them monthly or weekly.. 🙂

  26. Sir,I have many friends and they all are from different fields.Interviewer asks us “Who is your best friend?”.In that case,do we need to tell about only one friend or our office colleagues/college friends/home friends/school friends???

  27. Rajat this type of questions just to check your response like ” whom you love the most mom or dad ” so just play a trick and answer for both, see here you can tell the importance of both mom and dad bot are important in my life because they teach me different things add few more things , same with your question boy and girl , both are important because a girl can teach you something which a boy can’t and vice versa . Here you are showing maturity instead of selecting one particular gender .
