^ROD thanks for your reply … But are u sure its ‘40%’ required in each section ?? Have u read it on any official link ??If u have please post it .. From what i have come to know there is no minimum cutoff like 40 % etc … Every year the commision decides a minimum cut off marks for each section as per the overall performance of students that year…

I have given my cds 2 2012 and checked my answers.
I m getting 37 marks in GK after considering negative marks and 108 in english.That makes it a total of 145 marks . Is it generally enough to get call for OTA SSB ???
I read there is a minimum qualifying 40 marks required in each section .is it true ???
it is not forty marks, it is forty percent in each section and then there will be overall cut off.

Sir, I’ve cleared my CDSE-2 OTA for SNL-96 course and got through ssb from ALLHABAD 18ssb. What are my chances of making it to the final Merit list? And what are the expected dates of meritlist for OTA?????
There are very less chances of getting merit out in any CDSE entry. Merit list will come near Sep-Oct.

if we can give only one ssb then why so many names are common in the final list of cds 1 2011 many names are common in IMA ,NA and AIR FORCE
Names are common because your CDSE result is too good to make you eligible for All , but only one SSB not 3 or 4.

do you think that one name can be there in all lists just by giving one ssb
It is my duty to clear your doubt, through CDSE you will have only one SSB no matter how many branches of defence you are eligible and got name in.
Suppose your preference is IAF, ARMY, OTA, you have passed the AFSB for Flying but medically you are not fit for flying but fit for other ( Flying medical is tougher), so at that time you will go to IMA which is your next preference( depends on your wish if you want to join or not), and you are not required to go through the SSB again neither you will get any call letter for IMA from Indian Army.
Please check the list of NDA in which candidates are eligible for more than one branch but they have given only one SSB not two or three.
hi, i have 2 problems and i need some clarification
1. will a cdse written cleared candidate be called for a single interview or multiple interviews based on his successful results for various entries???
2. i cleared cds-1 2012 for NA,IMA & OTA and my preferences were 1NA,2AFA,3IMA and 4OTA.But i have a got a ssb call letter for SSC(T)39 course,OTA stating that it was sent by notification issued by UPSC and SSC(T)39 is not part of CDSE courses.????What is this all about?

Please correct yourself , through CDSE you can give only one SSB even though you have cleared for all , you will get the call letter for the first preference. If you have given 3 SSB from one CDSE test than you might be an exceptional case.
I got my name in OTA and NAVY when cds-2 2011 results were announced but my name is not present in the interview dates of candidates released now. I ve attended my NAVY SSB in march. Does that makes me ineligible for OTA or can i attend OTA also? Please help 🙂

I have done my B.Tech with I.T(Information Technology) Branch but i applied in the SSC-39 form as Computer Science as there is no option for the I.T is there.

It means that candidate is fit for more than one services and can join army or airforce and likewise.
Yes, there is also a special entry for NCC cadets. ( C certificated holders only)

There are 1503 candidates got nominated for SSB Allahabad and only 1160 got there name in the first list. Just wait for the list to get updated.

Yes, why not, if you are eligible for tech entry then you can always apply for it.
actually sir, if i get selected in the ssb for non technical entry, can i abstrain from joining and wait for technical entry?
You can not hold your joining, if you miss it once then you have to go with whole process again.

No, it is not a tech entry but if your performance is good in training then you get selected Unit.

If you are asking about the SSC M 96th NT OTA, then you will receive call letter by post also.
I did not receive the call letter through post sir. That is the problem
Anyhow if you did not get the call letter you can fill that certificate in the SSB center also, or else you can find someone who got the call letter and ask for a copy of No claim certificate.

Do not worry is for july coursed like IMA, OTA SSB usually happens late because the training starts in July and OCT unlike IMA for which training starts in Jan and July. For you it is OTA- OCT batch.

Very strange , I also checked, your name is not in the Allahabad list . Please try to contact Allahabad asap, also check your name in other lists .

Ok, I checked that total number of candidates allotted with Allahabad are 1503 in which only 1160 got there name in the list. So there are many others with you, may be they will update the list with more names soon.

You can go with custodian certificates from college and attested photocopy of all documents.
Going in Absentee batch won’t create any problem, but try to attend in the regular batch.

Any medical certificate or take some attested letter from your principal confirming your examinations at the time of SSB.

Yes all officers are same, technical officer goes in units which are related to technical work like EME.

I appeared in CDS(II)-2011 Exam and cleared it for Army, Navy and OTA.
I got the SSB letter for IMA-133(DE)course but could not attend both the regular and absentee batch due to college exams.
Now I have got the SSB letter for SSC(NT)-96th course. SSB to be held at Bangalore. But I’m not interested in not technical course and wish to know that whether I’ll get the SSB call for SSC technical as well ??
Also please tell what work is to be handled by officers who are from non-technical course ??

IMA-133 is also a non- tech course , CDSE entry is a not tech course , then why did you apply ??
For Tech entry apply for TGC and SSC.
No, you will not get call for tech SSB until you apply for TGC or SSC.

First check your allotted center with the link provide above.
If your center is Allahabad or Bhopal then check the list for your Interview date of respective centers.
If it is Bangalore then wait for some more time, you will get the call letter soon.
If you do not get the call letter in time then you can attend SSB with the online list having your name and roll number and other necessary docs .

I am writing you from coimbatore, I had cleared my CDSE-II 2011 and my name is in the list with Bangalore as center. But neither I have received call letter nor I could see any updates for the Bangalore batch. Some of my friends from north india say that they have received call letters for Allahabd batch but even that list is not yet updated on the joinindianarmy website. I am little confused about the dates. So please help me in this regard. Suggest me whether I should contact the headqurters of the board in this regard. Awaiting your reply soon.

Thanks for writing here, as you can see the Allahabad list is updated now, now we left with Bangalore only.
Please understand that it is not mandatory for all SSB boards to release their batch list at the same time. It depends on the availability of the SSB board because of various number of entries interviews goes at the same time.

sir…i have a tattoo on my chest n i came across a small article in a news paper that it would lead to elimination in the interview process. Is it true?
Till now this thing is not clear, in my knowledge it is not applicable to officers entry as if now, though I am not sure.

i have my ssb on 13th may and the absentee batch ssb is on 22nd june and my final exams have to be end on 14th may.please suggest me that does it create any problem if i go in absentee batch.Does it effect selection procedure if we go in absentee batch and as my entry is cdse so all the students who go on absentee batch are from cdse or they can mix other entries at that time also.
No, it won’t affect your chances until unless it affects your performance in SSB Interview.
They will never mix different entries candidates.
sir, allahabad itself has 5 ssb centres within, which centre does ota ssb gets? its written selection centre east, allahabad. thats it. no ssb center no. is specified.

No, this rule is not mentioned in the ssb procedure so do not worry.

I don’t think so but they will check you for skin infection which may occur from tattoos.
@Rohan But i just read in newspaper some months ago tat totooing candidates are banned for selection in armed force which is effective from feb 2012… but confirm it buddy.

Dude.. I was declared unfit coz of a tattoo over my right shoulder.. They allow tattoos only if they are present on the inner side of the fore arm starting from wrist till the elbow joint. tattoos on any other part of the body are rejected.
This circular is effective for commissioned officer ranks from july 1st 2012. It was effective for soldiers and all others from November, 2011.
This is confirmed. I’ve seen the circular myself @ CHAFB.
I’m going to my appeal medical board by the end of august 2012. I’ll update what has happened to me.

I dont have the copy of the circular.. But it was dated 25th of May, 2012 and reads like “Tattoos on bodies of candidates appearing for SSB procedure are not allowed. But, tattoo or signs on the skin, of smaller sizes [they didn’t define what size is small..] are allowed only of they are present on the inner face of the arm, towards the body starting from wrist joint till the elbow joint. Tattoos on any other part of the body are not allowed and candidates found having such on their bodies are barred from further process of screening…
This circular is effective for all the types of recruitment processes of Indian armed forces from 1st of July, 2012.”

I’m done with my RMB in MH, Pune. I’m cleared. Relieved of the tension what I had for the past 6 weeks…I’m just back from Pune today.. 23-08-2012…
Mine was a permanent tattoo over my right shoulder of dimensions 8 cms x 8 cms. I got it cleared off in Bangalore.
Anyone who has a tattoo on any other part of the body. get it scrapped of f before you go for an SSB. If they ask any thing about the scar you have on the skin, say that it was a byk accident or something has scratched etc etc. My case was different as it was recorded that there was a tattoo… As far as the doctors have said, I’m the first one till now to get unfit coz of a tattoo and then get fit by removing it.
Its also unofficially heard that some of the officers have already sent their representations to IHQ to withdraw this rule coz it has got no meaning in rejecting tattooed people. Indian armed forces are the only one who have released such a circular till now…. If this idea gets mooted strongly, there are chances that this may be withdrawn… But, its of no use now coz I’ve already got removed mine..!!
