I am not giving any statement on this but it is quite clear now that something is wrong for IT [Information Technology] student in TGC and SSC technical entry , since TGC-114th and SSC-38th, IT branch is out of the list so do the IT students cum aspirants of Indian Army . In the recent notification of TGC-116 there is no seat for IT branch , but still some of the IT students are applying under the CSE branch saying that both are same (in syllabus), sarcastically there is only 1 seat for CSE.
Earlier there was no official confirmation regarding this issue but recently the Official website of Indian Army has issued two notices for SSC-39th & SSC-10th Technical which clears most of the doubts regarding this issue.
Let me tell you briefly what can we conclude from those notices.
- Minimum cut off for SSC-10th Tech Women is 75%
- Minimum cut off for SSC-39th Tech Men is 66%
- You are not eligible if your actual engineering stream is different from what advertised in SSC-39th and SCC-10th Tech.

If the above is correct then IT candidates still have a hope in the next TGC and SSC entries , but the question is, how long it will take?? and why did Army opted more number of IT branch candidates when the seats were less??

What i personally feel , that whether you are from IT or Mech ,you will hardly* get work related to your branch in army , they need just warriors and good leaders , if they wanted to have TECHIES then their selection process would have different like navy , or they would have some tech papers related to branch , and i think they should give equal opportunities to each and every branch in order to serve for nation .
” Admin ” please help us how we can solve this problem for IT guys , should we mail them regarding this matter as in tgc 117 there is no vacancy for it students and soon notification for SSC(t) will be out , at least they should allow us for the upcoming tech entries.
i gave ssc 39 ssb and was conference out from 18 ssb allahabad under computer sc. brance but my branch is I.t if i was not applicable den why was i not sent home the very first day…..i have applied thi year plz confirm am i applicable….or send me the no from which i can confirm
Sir, I have graduated from B.Tech this year, from IT branch and I’ve applied for SSCW(Tech). Among the branches advertised ‘Electronics’ was mentioned, so I selected that. Am I eligible for SSCW(Tech) opening or not? because i’ve read that IT people shouldn’t be applying. Please help.

I am very much surprised that so many engineers are dumb. . . when particular branch is not mention in notification that means there are no vacancy for that in army. . .
One person said that it is sad that IT is not there despite shortage of officers. . . Mr. first of all, the recruitment for technical officers are done on the basis of requirement in technical regiments of indian army, if there is no requirement then why army will recruit such people. . . there are several other engineering branches which were never ever considered by army in the technical officer recruitment process. . .
So guys, plzz when it is mentioned in the notification then do apply otherwise don’t create mess and confusion over forums

That really doesn’t matter, there is no point in applying when you are not eligible.
Yeah.. !!! army has decided to end IT in technical…… IT students were sent back not allowing them to appear for the SSB interview and also TA was not given..
So I would suggest IT students to withold there move for SSC TECH.
Too Bad For A Nation Already Struggling With Acute Shortage Of Officers.No IT Seats Coz They took More IT candidates In The Past Few Years Than Required.However,Majority Of My Classmates From IT Branch Have Got Infantry/Artillary In Army.No idea What Our Indian Army Is Thinking.

If the ARMY is stating that they have taken more candidates against the available vacancies in IT, they have done the same for other branches as well. I have been monitoring the merit list of TGC 111 onwards and for all the courses they have actually taken twice the number of people. So if they are doing it for IT they should be doing it for all other branches as well and if the IT/CS graduates are being allocated a fighting ARM like ARTY/INF, then how does it make of difference it an individual is from IT or CS ?
I don’t think it’s just an excuse that the ARMY has adopted for not taking IT guys.
Sir Now in new notification there is no mention of cut-off for the SSC Tech. What can we perceive with this, is there any cut off or there ain’t a cut-off, in a bit confused mode now..need help

Hello sir i want your help : actuly i am information technology student..mine ssb date has come it’s in july but i applied it through Computer science branch….and its return if ur engg branch is not in advertisement dnt cme otherwise we will send u back…and whn i filled the form my date of birth is correct but its wrong in my ssb form…what should i do now…plz tell…and reply soon sir..
Please read the notice , you can not apply under different branch.
no sir i want to clear this issue i personally talk to amry officials at amry HQ they said last two years IT branch students are commissioned more than the reqirement like if there are 4 vacancy they selected 8 even in tgc112 they selceted 22 against vacancy of 3 so to neutralize this they dont publish any vacancy of IT for the tgc 115 and 116 but whenver the vacancy created MOD will publish it this can applicable to any branch

pushkar singh i just got this information after talking with the army people at HQ they give me this reason behind no vacancy of IT in tgc 115 and 116 hope so they stick to there version and we can see IT vacancy in future tgc ‘s just pray to god

There is hardly any direct entry for you, it is there only for engineering graduates.
