Difference Between Fresher, Repeater and Screened Out Candidate

If you are a repeater then you must know how things work in selection board and if you are a fresher, this post will help you to understand it. Now few candidates have confusion whether they come under repeater, fresher or screened out candidates.

How groups are created in SSB interview

As soon as you enter the selection centre you will be asked to fill up some forms like Travelling allowance and PIQ form etc. Then you will be asked to tell whether you are a fresher, screened out or repeater candidate. Based on that, few groups will be formed in which you will mostly find fresher, screened out and repeaters are grouped respectively and not mixed up.

What are the need of dividing candidates as per repeater and fresher status

A repeater has an experience of how screening and PPDT happens, also he is well aware of what happens in five-day process. SSB provide equal opportunity to a fresher so that he/she is grouped with other fresher candidates like him/her. By doing so, a fresher will perform better and will not feel nervous or underestimated. Similarly, repeaters are grouped with other repeater candidates.

If this is going to be your first SSB interview, you are a fresher.

Who is screened out candidate?

If you have taken part in Screening i.e. stage I testing but never cleared Stage I testing, you are a screened out candidate. If you have been to stage II testing ever then you will not come under this category irrespective to how many times you got screened out.

Who is the repeater?

If you have faced Stage II testing even once, you are a repeater irrespective to how many times you got screened out, conference out or applied for any other service i.e Army, Navy and Air Force.
