AFCAT 2 2014 Exam Date Eligibility and Age Limit

Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted by Indian Air Force twice every year. This is a common admission to recruit officers in the IAF. This test serves the purpose to make admission in all the branches of IAF, i.e. the Flying Branch, Ground Duty Branch and the Technical Branch. It is one of the biggest exams for recruitment of officers in the IAF. The written test is followed by a personality test called the Air Force Selection Board Interview. The AFSB is a six day process and consists of different testing techniques.

 


AFCAT is conducted two times in a year. Given below are details related to the AFCAT 2 2014.

  • Date of Notification: 8th June 2014
  • Start of receipt of applications: 8th June 2014
  • Last date for the receipt of applications: 7th July 2014
  • Expected date of result: 3rd week of September 2014
  • Date of Exam:  31st August 2014

Eligibility AFCAT 2 2014

Educational
Flying Branch
  • Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level OR BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.
Technical Branch
  • Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}. Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognized University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.
  • Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}. Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies.
Ground Duty Branches
  • Administration & Logistics: Graduate Degree with at least 60% marks or a Post Graduate Degree / equivalent Diploma with at least of 50% marks aggregated in any discipline of all papers put together.
  • Accounts: Graduate Degree in Commerce (B Com) with a minimum of 60% marks or Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (M Com) / CA / ICWA with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
  • Education: Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
Age Limit 
  • Flying Branch: 19 to 23 years
  • Technical Branch: 18-28 Years
  • Ground Duty Branch:
    • For Graduate: 20 to 23 Years
    • For Post Graduates / LLB (5 years  integrated course): 20 to 25 Years
    • For LLB (3 years course after Graduation):20 to 26 Years
    • For M Ed / Ph D /  CA  / ICWA:20 to 27 Years
