My friend is in a private job. If his employer is not ready to give NOC/ Certificate, can he submit his application without this NOC/ Certificate as he does not intend to either seek difference of pay from his current employer or a reinstatement at the same post?

timepass buddy 🙂 if you are employed in private sector, then forget it. No company will sign your form with the conditions meant by TA.

    Hi,

Year back, i made it through the SSB for Regular Army but i was not able to make it up to the academy as i was held by the medical board for having cubitus valgus in my left elbow. Is it that the medical standards for TA are as tough as they are for the regular army.

      There are following reasons:

      1. Less age, though it is mentioned in the advertisment, they will not consider a less age.

      2. You do not have any own business or job with good income, it is your fathers business at present.

Hi, typically, how long does it take to receive a call for PIB after the last date of submission of the application form (assuming the application has been accepted)? Also, how long does it take for the PIB to take place after the last date of submission of the form? I sent my application through a courier company which is showing (online) to be delivered on the last date of submission of the form. The envelope fulfilled all the requirements laid down in the advertisement published. Thanks.

Candidates whose applications forms are found, correct after scruitinisation will be called for screening, by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB), at their respective TA Group Headquarters. Candidates selected by PIB should provide brief BIO-DATA to include details about their employment with monthly income from all sources at the time of documentation immediately after PIB. Successful candidates will further undergo a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.

So there process is same as SSB Interview and then medicals , before that you have to clear Preliminary Interview Board.

For TA you must have a good job in hand first, being a fresher you can not apply for it.

Rank will be the same, pay structure is different also the way of work is different, its for one who lost all chances for joining as a regular army officer.

@Techiesom, you can not count the different allowances a regular army officer gets, so on the basis of rank structure payment may be same on paper, but in actual work an officer in field area gets more allowance than any other. If you compare on the basic salary level than you can assume the same payment structure.

Yes , you are correct. It is different from PC and SSC, but the rank structure is same. Its like serving the nation without loosing your primary job or resources.

      Hi Sir,
in what terms it is different from PC/SSC.
if Rank structure is same then what about the perks/salary? is that same also.
how can a person work for his regular job and TA both at the same time. what kind of work he has to do?

would be oblige if you elaborate this.
      Thanks

PC is permanent commission but SC stands for short service commission, TA is very different from regular army, in fact TA officers do not work much for army and only have to attend few months every year, kind of volunteer service. You can get more info in Indian army official website.

    Sir,

    1. The notification reads “graduates from recognized uni.” shall apply. I will complete BE in june 2013, am I eligible?
    2. When will the course commence?
    3. I read the details about the TA, it seems that it is a kind of weekend course or part time job in the army (to sum it up). Are the credentials equivalent to the regular army? What is the difference between regular army and TA then? (I am a bit skeptical after reading its details, so a bit motivation and showing the bright side would help.)

    thanks,
    sujit

Sir, I am not employed. I am a student currently. If being gainfully employed is necessary then I could get a letter from the firm i worked part time. I sincerely wish to know if i am eligible.

I guess you should have a good job in hand, at least full time. But I suggest you to apply if you think that you are a gainfully employed.
