Get Ready for Personality Preparation for SSB

Get ready for Personality preparation for SSB There are lot many who see the uniform and are influenced by it while there are others who are ready to work hard for gaining the stars on the shoulder. But that’s not that easy as it looks like. For getting all that respect in the form of uniform or stars one need to undergo one of the finest exams in India named SSB. It’s all about personality and not learning things and writing there in the same form unlike many exams in our country. And yes once people make through it they reach one of the finest dream destinations that they can think of. The defence training academies in India provides what all a youth can think of. Yes they train you like anything to make officers but you will live all the world class facilities for you that no other place and job can offer.

Personality Preparation for SSB

SSB is just a simple personality exam where one needs to represent himself or herself in front of assessors who try to judge whether the candidate is trainable or not. Simply said you just have to be yourself in SSB. Now what should one do when one thinks of joining the defence

  1. Don’t wait for the last moment that you will start preparation at the last moment as personality is something which takes time to improve and its always better to start
  2. Personality analysis has many tools that can help for improvisation but with experience I can say that self-introspection is the best technique that helps in proper analysis of personality. There are tools available for this which facilitates in easing the process. I in my personal mentor ship that is provided to aspirants use such tools which can be used from the place of residence and full analysis can be done. None the less if someone has knowledge of psychology can themselves do it.
  3. Communication plays a vital role in casting good impression and practice is the only key that helps in improving it, so that’s why I always suggest my mentees to start early so that all the flaws can be studied and worked upon.
  4. Body language and facial expressions are also really important to be worked upon and hence need proper workout as body is something which speaks language of its own and can caste your reality in front of assessors. You can try to modify the words you speak but it’s really difficult to modify body language and it has been noted that assessors catch the aspirants from this only, so work on it also.

Body language in such an exercise is very important and I would deal it in a separate article. Still If you have any confusion or feel to take individual assessment of personality for olq’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counselling program drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. It would be a pleasure to help and resolve queries and clear doubts which are propagating and causing a hindrance in preparation.

Developing Emotional Quotient For SSB Interview

1
Developing-Emotional-Quotient-For-SSB-Interview

Hello friends, it is indeed true that in today’s modern era there is a lot of stress on the individuals to perform. Everyone is slogging it out to meet his objectives. In this course we often forget the feelings of others and tend to lead a selfish life. It is imperative that a man is as mentally healthy as he is physically. It is the mind which can do wonders. We all humans have same sized brains but we all do not create history. When one lives in a society it is important that one takes care of the feelings and sentiments of others.

In the defense forces, an officer is required to keep his men motivated and buoyant all the time. A leader cannot afford his team to be disgruntled and dismayed. Hence, in the SSB interviews the assessors also take a measure of your Emotional Quotient. Emotional Quotient is an important quality which an efficient leader must have. In this article we will discuss the ways to develop Emotional Quotient for life.

  1. Motivating Oneself: – Unless you yourself are not motivated and pumped up to perform your tasks, how can you motivate others. In the SSB Interview while doing Group Tasks the GTO takes a measure of your self- motivation. Hence, one has to be up for the challenge all the time.
  2. Motivating Others: – It is not necessary that if you are motivated, people around you are also motivated. A leader must have the art to motivate his team members to get the desired results. It looks simple but motivating others is an arduous task. In the SSB interview as well there would be instances when your group is perplexed and is not able to find a way to go forward. At that point this quality comes into play.
  3. Empathizing With Others: – Yes, a leader must be bold and boisterous but he should never be stone hearted. Like you, your team members will also have certain emotional constraints. If anyone among your group has any type of inconvenience, it should not be ignored but addressed at the earliest. A leader is nothing without the support of his team members.
  4. Admitting Mistakes: – If no one made any mistakes, the word SORRY would have been obliterated from the dictionaries. We humans unwittingly commit many mistakes. While most of us are adamant to prove ourselves right, A good leader must have the finesse to know when he is wrong and admit his mistake. His act will not only be appreciated but will also send a message among others that their leader is a responsible person. In the SSB interview as well, if you have committed a mistake, be bold enough to take responsibility for your action instead of passing the buck to someone else.
  5. Mental Stamina: – There is no point in having a member in the defense forces who can run 15kms at a stretch but is poor in handling real life stressful situations. Every individual is faced with unforeseen circumstances; an efficient leader always shows grit to handle those situations. The SSB interview is all about handling stressful situations with dogged determination and nothing else.
  6. Exemplary Sense Of Duty: – It looks simple, but the way we all are brought up to find an easy way out of every situation, it becomes difficult especially for an Indian to remain dutiful towards his organization all the time. A good leader must keep the needs of his organization at the top most keel. If you set a good example your team members will follow suit. Being dutiful will not only fetch you the respect of your team members but also the organization.
  7. An Efficient Team Member: – You must be equally efficient in leading your men (juniors) and getting led by your seniors. Defense system of leadership is solely based on this principle. Therefore, one cannot think that he is above the organization and do whatever he wants to. Even the General of Indian Army is answerable to the Ministry of Defense. The SSB interviews test your ability to perform efficiently as a team member through a battery of tests.
  8. Positive Attitude: – Many a times it has been reiterated that one must have a positive attitude. This is indeed a reflection of how much important it is in life. In the SSBs you will be put through a lot of stressful and cumbersome situations. Keeping calm and maintaining a positive attitude is the best way to deal with those testing situations. Positivity comes from your inner self, if you do not exhibit positivity in your daily life, you cannot suddenly emerge as a positive person in the SSB interview.Friends, Emotional Quotient is all about understanding the feelings and apprehensions of others. Like you, all around you have different reaction mechanisms. Being positive and motivated is the best way to deal with various kinds of people.

With this I take leave for today. I hope all the readers of our blog have relished this article. Please feel free to comment in the comment box below. Till then, stay merry stay mirthful. JAI HIND

G.K Boost Series- Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria (ISIS)

1
What-is-Islamic-State-Of-Iraq-And-Syria-ISIS

If there is one thing that is making a constant appearance in the international column of the newspapers, it is surely the ISIS( Islamic State Of Iraq and Syria). From the last 12-14 months we have been hearing about the brutal, ruthless and inhumane acts of this terrorist group. The magnitude of the grotesque acts afflicted by this group has alarmed the whole globe and various organizations like NATO have pledged their support to combat this anti-human warfare group. Today, we will try to shed some light on this burning issue.

HOW DID IT START AND WHAT ARE ITS OBJECTIVES

This group had started in 2004 as Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) and renamed itself as ISIS two years later. This is predominantly a group of radicalized Sunni Muslims who wish to establish primitive Islamic State in the Middle Eastern Region to be governed by strict shariah law. This group is headed by the Iraqi fundamentalist Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi who is also the self proclaimed caliph of the Islamic World. This group has crossed all limits of heinousness to get its wishes fulfilled; it has beheaded umpteen numbers of individuals who refused to accept shariah law and has also committed hideous atrocities against women. This group has already captured the area between central Iraq and northern Syria which gives them access to many pivotal oilfields.

CURRENT STATE

Currently, the ISIS militant group is growing in numbers and already controls an area which is equal to the size of Britain. It is also speculated that around 8-9 million people live in the areas controlled by this militant group. This group has access to many modern weapons and equipments which makes it very dangerous to confront with. It has already boisterously beheaded many foreign individuals from countries like U.S, U.K and Japan. The recent attacker of the Charlie Hebdo incident is also said to have ISIS allegiance. Even today this group is continuing is execrable and reprehensible activities without any restraint. Despite several air strikes by US led forces, ground strikes by Iraqi and Syrian governments, there is no thwarting this pro-Sunni bandwagon. This group is growing popular among radical Sunni Muslims across the globe and many foreign individuals are said to have joined this group. Even in India two people were caught for having alleged links with this terrorist organization.

HOW DOES IT SUSTAIN ITSELF

When almost the whole world is united against them, then how do they fund themselves? Well, it gets money from the taxes they impose on the people living in areas under their siege, extortion, selling the oil from the oil fields in their control in the black market and by looting the homes of people who fled. It has also been reported that several rich businessmen from countries like Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia who share anti-Shiite sentiments give money to the ISIS. Reportedly, ISIS makes more than $10 billion a month.

FINAL VERDICT

Though we have been witnessing many terrorist organizations trying to impose Islam on the whole world in the past, ISIS has taken this mission to another level by going on a ruthless rampage. It has not left any individual from any country. Whoever has tried to cross their path has been stifled. Even though aid from the countries like US has helped to control their activities, there is a need of a global consensus and will to combat this venomous group. The activities of this group are not against a certain sect of people, it is against mankind. It is time that soft countries like India step up the plate and do something conclusive to annihilate this group. Mere airstrikes won’t help; we need an army of foot soldiers to counter them. The whole world should consider it as a menace which needs to be obliterated as soon as possible. For, if this organization succeeds in its mission, several similar dormant groups will follow suit which will make the whole world RED by blood all over its surface. Therefore, it is imperative that the top most nations of the world join hands and do whatever it takes to stop and finish off this antihuman group.

lady officers OTA Chennai

So today is international women’s day, a day celebrated every year on March 8th world wide to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. I have been observing every year, the posts, the messages, and the emails which people share and send every year on this day. Many of which are sent by the online shopping companies, who celebrate the women’s day more than everybody else by giving discounts and offers. Ironically we women, according to a cliché just love to shop, so that is the best thing that we could get on our day, right? Many of these posts are shared by women, and some men, who are termed feminist. It has been just two days to a big festival, holi, I was surprised by the amount of wishes I got.

10th Anniversary of Olive Greens Institute

1
Olive Greens Institute, located at Lohia International School, Manimajra, Chandigarh, is in true earnest, committed to inspire and train young aspirants to join the Armed Forces as Officers. It made a humble beginning in February 2005 at YMCA, Chandigarh. Later on, to cater to increased demand due to rising popularity of the training programme, it moved to its present location at Manimajra for want of more space and added facilities. The high point of training at Olive Greens is a 2.5 acre of Group Testing ground, constructed exactly to the specifications of a Service Selection Board (SSB), which provides a realistic experience of training to the candidates.
Defence aspirants are drawn from all over India. They are accommodated in comfortable Guest House, separately for girls and boys. The Institute has its integral transport facilities for the hostel and outdoor training. Olive Greens Institute, till date, has trained over 18,000 candidates of which over 6000 have qualified SSB, to become commissioned officers in the Armed Forces. Many of them have excelled with top honours in the training academies. The Institute is liberal in giving concessions / incentives to the needy / BPL category of students.

What is noteworthy about this Institute is that, it has a fairly high selection rate at the SSB, especially that of lady candidates, which actually aligns with the vision of ‘Nari Shakti’ as enunciated by our Prime Minister. It is pertinent to add that that many of the lady officers trained at Olive Greens participated in the recent  Republic Day Parade, out of whom two siblings Lt Surabhi Gandhi and Lt Saloni Gandhi of the Indian Navy were interviewed by NDTV News Channel.
Another distinctive achievement, that makes the Institute unique, is that it has been conferred with ISO 9001-2008 Certification by TUV Austria, for its proficient standards and quality training, the only SSB training Institute in India with a ISO certification for quality training.
