Written Examination In Technical Entries Like TGC

indian army tgc entry
Recently there was a even conducted on Facebook by Indian defence aspirants, they are demanding for written test in technical entries like TGC and SSC tech followed by SSB interview and so on. At present Indian army call aspirants for direct SSB based on their performance in Engineering degree, due to huge crowd of candidates in technical entry, army has also removed few good known branches from tech entries, without any valid reason.

More about this cause:

Friends, we  a group of SSB Aspirants, are requesting Indian Army  HQ to conduct a common Written test for tech entries in Indian Army (TGC/SSC Tech)… A written test similar to AFCAT of Indian Air Force…. Friends, as you know the tech entries in Indian Army are Direct Entries, anyone who fills the form gets the SSB call. Because of this loophole, these days the number of aspirants increased in large numbers which creates chaos like situation…1000’s of people report on the 1st day of SSB at a center like Allahabad. Most of the prospective candidates gets screened out…The funny thing is that these competition is increased because of plenty of “Jobless Engineers” most of them are non serious candidates who just apply for the entries after going through Job Sites like freshers world. These candidates don’t even know the full form of IMA and they report for SSB. Tech entries of Army are direct entries because of that, the cut off is also increasing day by day, after 1-2 years cut off may go to 70-75%. So, it’s a wake up call friends, Please support us in our cause, We are requesting Indian Army HQ, to conduct a common written test which will shortlist  Candidates like in CDSE, AFCAT entries.
This Cause is for all who are pursuing engineering and those who have completed Engineering degree, All SSB aspirants are welcome to join us, as we have the same goal to join the Army and serve the nation. JAI HIND.

  1. Then you should have studied well in college. I am sorry for being rude, but if we look at the course of engineering then if a student have given his whole and soul in his studies then engineering is the most challenging and best course available for study. I personally think that DIRECT ENTRY for engineers is our right. If we have studied hard for four years then we surely deserve it. It just depends on how well you can JUSTIFY your degree.

    PS:
60% or 90%, nothing matters if you are not able to justify it. “Basics” are what everyone looks upon.

  2. if the candidate have the percentage they surely should send ssb letter and now days how the population is growing everyday should give chance to attain ssb yarr . then what there will be difference between an engineering student and a normal degree student. its not fair am sorry ..

  3. Some of us were not allowed to sit for the screening exam and were sent back on the very first day even without examining as according to them Computer Engg. is different to Computer science engg. even computer technology is allowed which i have never heard about.

    • BRO I AM NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WANT THEY SEND BACK ALL THE CANDIDATE HAVING COMPUTER ENGINEERING BUT ALLOW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BRANCH STUDENT .HOW ITS POSSIBLE THEY DIDNT PUBLISH ANY CHANGE IN NOTIFICATION OF TGC117 OR 40SSC AND SUDDENLY ALLOWED IT GUYS AND SAID THEY GET AN NOTIFICATION ON BEHALF OF DELHI HIGHCOURT VERDICT ON DISCRIMINATION AGAINST A VERY KNOWN BRANCH (IT).SO THEY ALLOW IT GUYS BUT WHAT ABOUT OTHER IT GUYS WHO DONT HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT THAT AND NOT FILL THE FORM FOR TGC 117 AND DIDINT ATTEND THE SSB FOR 40SSC DUE TO PREVIOUS MESH.I GOT THIS INFORMATION FROM MY FRIEND WHO ATTENDED SSB YESTERDAY AT BHOPAL I AM SHOCKED THEY DIDNT PERMIT A SINGLE STUDENT FROM RTU UNIVERSITY BECAUSE ALL HAVING DEGREE OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING AND MY FRIEND ONE OF THEM.SO I SUGGEST YOU TO FILL AN RTI OR CAS IN HIGH COURT AGAINST THIS . JAI HIND

  4. Cut off should be there an be at least 60% and a written exam should be included which should gauge aspirants’ technical ability and personality at a preliminary level. This should be for all the recognized branched by AICTE including I.T and some other good branches which have been moved out of the eligibility branches list as of now.

    • first of all, Army cannot include all the branches, every organisation has some requirement . . . And 2nd they provide 1 year of technical training after commissioning so, technical ability does not matter.

This was the statement given by board president of 21 SSB Bhopal 😛

  5. My percentage is quiet low.i.e 60.77%. There are less chances for me of getting an interview call from the selection boards if the cut off criteria is implemented, people like me would never get an opportunity to face the ssb interviews.I have only 1 dream and i want to live it.There are many people out there like me who are striving to live their dream of joining the INDIAN ARMY.I support this and call out the others to make sure that people like me get a chance of proving themselves.we at least deserve the least.

  6. yup against the motion ssb in good will knows what they are doing …. airforce doesnot need 10000 officers but army do …. all has he ablity olqs some have more some can improve so no exam 🙂

  7. Against the motion. . . All are asking for some common exams. How many of you know that Army is going to open a new selection board in Punjab? They have already started the construction and from next year it will be functional. It is done to tackle the situation of flood of candidates reporting for SSB.

I read few of you said that OLQs and army doesn’t need geek. Army knows that they don’t need geek and that is why they haven’t kept any common exam because most of us will surely fail. And only those will clear who are good in studies and the situation will be similar to Navy where they are looking for geeks 😛

Entrance exam is not the solution, depending upon the number of applicants, it is the time to open new selection boards. Army has already taken the initiative.

    Case closed 😉

    • I read your previous article and congracts bro,,
I respect your opinion and i do agree that the froces are trying their best to cope up with the crowd turning up for the SSB but what about the increase in cut-off year by year,,?? Inspite of knowing the fact that different universities have different marking criteria.
In such a condition ,,will it be a right thought to introduce cut-off and i think they will be increasing it in further entries. A common exam would turn out to b a equal platform for all to show their capabilities,,

    • Well, they have to tackle down the crowd for next couple of courses and after that they will be having new board to tackle it down.

Another thing is that in Allahabad, there are 5 boards, but when 1000 to 2000 people report, then only 2 boards functions for TGC or SSC entries. Why don’t you guys bring this thing to the notice of the Army.

If all the five board in allahabad tackles down 1000 to 2000 people then for screening in each board there will be only 200 to 400 people, which is quite good enough. The biggest problem is solved, rest in bhopal and bangalore, they are managing crowd in a good way. If they do in this way, then there is no need for screening of forms based on percentage criteria.

    • @abhimanyu: I belong to EEE and i share same kind of agony as you do.

What Army HQ is doing, they are searching for the convenient way which will reduce the number of people appearing for SSB. So they have opted for ruthless idea of not allowing combination branch. EEE people are surely eligible for Electrical Vacancies.

This thing is now under judicial court. And court has asked UGC to review the matter, and justify that when IT and CSE has same syllabus then why they are considered as different branches. Also, for the discrimination done by not allowing EEE under electrical vacancy.

Another fact is that every organisation has some requirement and according to the requirement they organize their recruitment. So it is not possible that all branches will be included. But I do not support of excluding EEE from electrical vacancies.

    • @Ankush. . . Yes, opening of new board will surely solve problem of percentage criteria. See percentage criteria is used as huge number of applications were recieved by Army, and it is not possible to send all of them in SSB as there are limited SSB centers in India of Army. More number of SSB center means they will be able to handle more candidates, so they will not screen applications on the basis of any criteria.

Army has taken the initiative and their intentions are clear. Let us see, what happens in the future.

    • @Sandeep. . . Thank you for your wishes buddy 🙂

I don’t know when I am going to join, eagerly waiting for the merit.

Lekin, ye saali merit aati he nai hai 😀

  8. hellow guys….
In my opinion Most of the well known companies have their respective cut-offs during campus and they r selecting based on their %. so same is done by the Army. Army wanna recruit good candidates, means good in academics and extra-curricular as well. So they did nothing wrong by fixing the cut-off. yeah they should not eliminate several branches like IT, chemical etc without any valid reason. Everyone is having right because they have same degree and value.

  9. wat shit is all this yyy there is any exam need to be conducted we all ER’s should get chance to attend SSB wat abot those who got selected and got commssion in the Army without giving any Exam Army should do something by going through intial screeing like thorough paper verifications before SSB so that in eligible candidates dnt get chance . Admin Sorry but I am not suupporting your this cause all shld get chance like they are getting previous and appeal others not to support

  10. When i sent the document for changing the pattern related to TGC, i got this reply from “Dir, Recruiting.-6 ADG,MOD”…..

    Dear Ankush,
This office has not invited any suggestions or comments regarding/on any subject. This is a major policy decision of the Govt. The Govt decisions are not taken in a day. Please do not give any other suggestions.

Now tell me what to do????

  11. Dear brothers… one thing i would like to tell you that each and every person of our country has the right to do something for his country and if this is to be done by joining Army or any other Armed force then there should be no entry test like you all want….and what SSB do is …” search for the RIGHT ONE not for the BEST ONE”……so Please don’t do such foolish things…hope you understand me and Please give your best and good at SSB rather then raising fingers on their way of selection.

  12. but will there be any percentage criteria for applying for written exam for TGC entry .

it should be like any tech graduate can apply .

reason is our country has so many different university and marking hence marking system varies .

if it is like , any tech graduate holding degree can apply for written examination . unlike AFCAT . where they require aggregate of 60% putting all semester together . ………………
    kindly confirm …
