The National Defence Academy serves is one of the best colleges in the world which makes the men of honor. Established in 1954, this academy has made India proud by producing infinite number of warriors who are at their best. So, let’s start our journey in National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune.
The place where you are trained to be tomorrow’s gentleman is this and believe me you will have lots of fun in these 3 years. On the first day, you will be amazed and lie down like a sack of potatoes as you are pulled out from your comfort zone but trust me this is the only place where you will learn how to live. On your first haircut you will loose your identity.
Then all the thing will start from the next day at NDA at sharp 5:10 pm with a glass of tea. Then get ready for another breathtaking day. Now, go for drill and follow all the commands. The commands are harsh but willingly you should follow them as now you are part of the squadron. Then, it’s time for your yummy breakfast. As the kitchen serves for 1800 cadets it smells fantastic and it is usual at NDA. Then it’s time for your classes and the road to your classrooms if filled with thousands of bicycles in the full day. The teachers at NDA are interested to discharge their knowledge with full dedication. They not only teach you but also tell you how to use that knowledge in the realizing of your military aims. Weekends are fun ending with group discussions.
After 2 years, you get an opportunity to work in your respected fields as for the first two years all the cadets whether army, air force or navy are taught together.
All cadets undergo practical training for their fields. The navy cadets undergo training such as boat saving and peacock baying. Army and air force cadets also training sand, one of my favorite command for army is –‘dhava position’ and air force cadets will be taught things like aerodynamics and meteorology. Then it’s turn for your final test and the air force cadets have to fly the complicated aircraft-‘the Sukhoi’. Now it’s the turn for the lovely and beautiful parade on the convocation day and the royal dinner. So now your journey in NDA is over and now you have to go to Indian Military Academy for one year and after that you will become a commissioned officer. I will conclude it by saying good luck to all of you and hope that you serve your country at it’s best.
