What Are Assessors Looking At SSB? – Part 2

What Are Assessors Looking At SSB? – Part 2. This series has part one where we covered the various aspects of human personality and what assessors are looking in an aspirant. It’s very clear as of now that everyone has the qualities while everyone does not develop them and get selected. Let’s now discuss how to develop these qualities so that selection is ensured. The best tool that has been identified for development of OLQ’s is SELF INTROSPECTION. I have heard from many aspirants that everyone tells it but no one suggests the way one should do it. The following is the right way to do it and develop yourself:

  • Have time for your preparation – One should ensure that they start preparing for SSB in time. It does not look sensible to start and finish preparation in two weeks which is actually impossible. The preparation as such needs less time but the learning’s that come need time for implementation in personality. So at least a month should be there for preparation.
  • Doing self-introspection – For this one need to study their life deeply which should encompass life events important or otherwise. This study will provide the base for further preparation as it gives strength and weakness as output along with the degree of presence. In my mentorship program individuals get their profiling done based on few tests that I have designed where clear strengths and weakness are identified and ways to improve are suggested.
  • Practice hard beforehand – Once the profiling is done one should now practice the various rounds of SSB so that the personality found and that reflected from whatever one speaks/ writes / performs is similar and both of them matches perfectly. One needs to see while preparation and reduce the mismatch to maximum extent.
  • Reflect yourself properly – Your personality and what is reflected should be similar. This rule applies to ever round as they are interested to just see the potential of being an officer in you. Don’t believe in myths that its tough or they assess hard or if you are not good in English they will reject, etc. I have published a list of myths also in article. For detailed information refer that as well.ssb gto task

Also one should seek right guidance. I have observed few people taking guidance in large groups. Please understand that SSB is something where individual personality is assessed and every personality is different so everyone should have different approach to tackle similar problems. Also there are no fixed responses to the problems given at SSB. So desperate and learned responses will never help in life. Still If you have any confusion or feel to take individual assessment of personality for OLQ’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counselling program drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. It would be a pleasure to help and resolve queries and clear doubts which are more often myths .Tackle the problems rightly at SSB and reflect your true self. SSB is the easiest exam one can give as there is nothing to prepare about. You are the best person who knows about yourself. So spend proper time in knowing yourself and achieve your dream to serve the nation.
