AFCAT 2020 will be conducted by IAF in 22 and 23 Feb 2020. The AFCAT 1 2020 online application will start from 01 Dec 2019 and airforce aspirants can apply for Flying, Technical and Non-Technical branch of the Indian Air Force. The main AFCAT syllabus will be same for all the branches, aspirants who are applying for Technical branch will be facing EKT additionally. Syllabus of the AFCAT 2020

  • English: Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion/Filling in of correct word, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary, Idioms and Phrases
  • General Awareness: History, Geography, Civics, Politics, Current Affairs, Environment, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Sports, etc
  • Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple Interest, Time & Distance (Trains/Boats & Streams)
  • Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability

AFCAT Syllabus 2018 2019

AFCAT 1 2020 Exam Schedule: The AFCAT (and EKT) will be conducted in two days as per the following schedule:-

Standard of AFCAT 2020 Question Paper:

  • The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University).
  • The Online examination will consist of objective type questions and will be in English only for both AFCAT and EKT

AFCAT 2020 Marking Scheme

  • Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • No marks for unattempted questions.

Questions will be based on the metric system of Weights & Measures wherever applicable. Candidates must appear for the Online AFCAT in person. Under no circumstance will any scribe or another candidate be allowed to appear/ assist in the exam. Air Force has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.

Items to be Brought Inside Examination Hall. The following items are to be carried to the exam centre:-

  • e-Admit Card for AFCAT 01/ 2020.
  • Candidate’s Aadhaar Card.
  • Another valid photo identity card such as PAN card/ passport/ driving licence/ voter identity card/ college identity card or any other valid photo identity proof, with details of name, father’s name, date of birth and a clear photograph.
  • Two passport size colour photographs- same as the photo uploaded during online application (to be pasted, not stapled on Admit Card next to the printed photo and on attendance sheet at the exam centre).
  • Ballpoint Pen (Blue or Black) for signing on the attendance sheet and rough work.
