Indian Army to Get Apache Attack Helicopters in 2024

Beyond the Indian and US military, Apache helicopters also find operators in Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Netherlands, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UAE, Egypt, Greece, and the UK.

Indian Army to Get Apache Attack Helicopters: Boeing, the American aerospace and defense titan, has initiated the production of Apache AH-64E attack helicopters for the Indian Army at its Mesa, Arizona establishment.

Previously in 2020, Boeing successfully delivered 22 Apache E-model helicopters to the Indian Air Force and took on a contract to produce six AH-64E choppers for the Indian Army. The anticipated delivery for these Army helicopters is set for 2024, as informed by the company.

The AH-64E stands as the modern iteration of the Apache AH-64A, which India received back in 1984.

Indian Army to Get Apache Attack Helicopters

Boeing has reported that over 1,280 Apache helicopters are currently active, amassing beyond 5 million flight hours. This includes a staggering 1.3 million combat flight hours. In total, the firm has dispatched more than 2,700 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.

Boeing India’s President, Salil Gupte, remarked on the advanced technology and tested efficiency of the AH-64, emphasizing its role in augmenting the operational readiness and defense arsenal of the Indian Army.

Earlier in January, Tata, in collaboration with Boeing, presented the Indian Army with its inaugural AH-64 Apache fuselage, constructed at its high-tech facility located in Hyderabad. The fuselage represents the central cylindrical core of the aircraft.

Adding to the praises, Christina Upah, the Vice President of Attack Helicopter Programs and Senior Executive at Boeing Mesa, proclaimed the AH-64E as the global pinnacle of attack helicopters. She highlighted its unmatched lethality and resilience, expressing delight in offering these merits to the Indian Army.
