Tiger Triumph – 24

In a significant move to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance disaster response capabilities, India and the United States are set to conduct a joint tri-Service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise, named Tiger Triumph – 24. Scheduled from March 18 to 31, 2024, on the Eastern Seaboard, this exercise underscores the strategic partnership and mutual commitment of both nations towards global peace and stability.

Tiger Triumph – 24 will see a substantial deployment of assets and personnel from both countries. The Indian contingent will include Navy ships equipped with helicopters and landing crafts, Navy aircraft, Army personnel and vehicles, and Air Force aircraft and helicopters, complemented by a Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT). Representing the United States, US Navy Ships, troops from the US Marine Corps, and the US Army will participate, showcasing a formidable display of cooperative strength and readiness.

The exercise is designed to build interoperability and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for conducting effective HADR operations. By simulating challenging scenarios, the exercise aims to enhance the readiness and coordination between the forces of India and the US, ensuring they can jointly respond to disasters with efficiency and rapidity.

Tiger Triumph – 24 will unfold in two phases: the Harbour Phase and the Sea Phase. The Harbour Phase, running from March 18 to 25, will facilitate a series of Training Visits, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, Sports Events, and Social interactions among personnel from both navies. This phase not only aims at planning and preparation for the exercise but also at fostering camaraderie and understanding among the participating forces.

Following the Harbour Phase, the exercise will transition to the Sea Phase, where ships with embarked troops will conduct Maritime, Amphibious, and HADR operations. This phase is crucial for testing the preparedness and operational synergy of the combined forces in real-world-like disaster scenarios.
