Lt. Gen. M.V. Suchindra Kumar, the Army Commander of Northern Command, recently visited the headquarters of Kilo Force to assess the prevailing security situation in the region.
During his visit, he was briefed on the counter-terrorism (CT) grid and the operational preparedness of the unit.
Kilo Force, an integral part of the Rashtriya Rifles specializing in counter-insurgency, operates in the challenging terrain of Jammu and Kashmir. Raised on September 1, 1999, Kilo Force has been pivotal in maintaining security and participating in a variety of operations since its inception.
The force is headquartered at Sharifabad Garrison and falls under the command of the XV Corps of the Indian Army, which is based at Badami Bagh, Srinagar.
The Army Commander lauded the operational readiness and vigilance of the troops and emphasized the importance of remaining alert to all ranks.
His visit and comments highlight the ongoing commitment of the Indian Army to secure the area against insurgency threats, echoing the ‘Nation First’ philosophy upheld by both the Dhruva Command and the Chinar Corps.
