Grant of Commission

The period of seniority granted is 12 months or 24 months for candidates holding postgraduate or doctorate degrees, respectively, prior to their commissioning in the Remount Veterinary Corps.

Suitability for Retention of Commission

If an officer is found unsuitable within one year of the grant of commission, their commission may be terminated before the contractual period of service for five years. This provision ensures that only candidates who meet the required standards and demonstrate their suitability for the role continue to serve in the Remount Veterinary Corps.

Tenure of Engagement

All officers granted commission in the Remount Veterinary Corps will serve the Indian Army for a period of five years from the date of conferment of commission, subject to fulfillment of other conditions. The period of engagement may be extended by another five years based on the officers’ performance and the needs of the Indian Army.
