In a ceremony held at the National War Memorial, amidst pouring rain, the Chief of Army Staff, General Manoj Pande, flagged off a motorcycle expedition as part of the celebrations leading up to Kargil Vijay Diwas. This event is a highlight of the Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav, commemorating 25 years since the significant victory in the Kargil War.
The event was attended by numerous dignitaries and veterans, along with Veer Naris, who were honored during the proceedings. Mrs. Archana Pande, President of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), played a pivotal role in felicitating the Veer Naris, acknowledging their sacrifices and contributions.
The expedition aims to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the country and to instill a sense of pride and remembrance among the citizens. This journey through various historical and war-related sites will culminate in Kargil, aligning with the national celebrations of Kargil Vijay Diwas.
