In a significant engagement aimed at providing strategic exposure and insight into India’s security dynamics, 115 student officers, along with their directing staff from Serial 53 of the Higher Command Course, visited the Headquarters of the Eastern Command at Fort William, Kolkata. This visit, part of the Forward Area Tour, offered the officers an opportunity to gain firsthand understanding of operational challenges and strategic planning in the Eastern Theatre.
The officers had the privilege of an in-depth interaction with Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, Army Commander Eastern Command (ArmyCdrEC), who provided a comprehensive overview of the security situation, ongoing operational preparedness, and the unique dynamics of the Eastern Command. Lt Gen Tiwari elaborated on the complexities and nuances of the region, including the challenges posed by the terrain, international boundaries, and the role of the Army in maintaining stability and security.
