Army Day Parade to be Held in Pune for the First Time on January 15, 2025

A promotional video for the upcoming Army Day parade was launched at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, generating a wave of enthusiasm among attendees, including cinephiles, international delegates, and prominent figures from the film industry. Scheduled to take place for the first time in Pune on January 15 next year, the video showcased the celebration and honored the dedication of the soldiers.

Notable Bollywood personalities, including R. Madhavan and Rakul Preet Singh, participated in the video, expressing their excitement about the event. They praised the commitment of the armed forces and called on citizens to attend this grand occasion, reflecting a growing public interest in military traditions.

Army Day has a rich history, dating back to 1949, when Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, marking the transition from British leadership. Traditionally, the parade was a hallmark of the celebration in Delhi, featuring displays of military prowess, regimental traditions, and cutting-edge technology.

The event began undergoing transformative changes in 2023 when it was relocated from the national capital to Bengaluru, signaling a shift toward making the festivities more accessible to citizens nationwide. Following this, Lucknow served as the host city in 2024, setting the stage for Pune to take on the responsibility in 2025. The decision to move the parade aims to foster a deeper connection between the armed forces and the public, highlighting a commitment to celebrate national pride across various regions.
