In a remarkable incident showcasing the swift response of the Indian Navy, a woman was rescued following a speedboat collision in Odisha, near the renowned Bali Yatra site. The event occurred while a naval diving team was conducting a survey of the Mahanadi River, preparing for the upcoming 2024 Bali Yatra festival.

As the team was engaged in their routine operations, they witnessed the speedboat accident, prompting immediate action. The divers quickly located the woman, later identified as Nandini Das, who had fallen into the river due to the collision. Understanding the urgency of the situation, the diving team employed a buddy carry technique to transport her safely over a distance exceeding one kilometer to the nearest police help center.

Upon reaching the police station, the rescuers faced another challenge: the absence of an ambulance to transport Ms. Das to a medical facility. However, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring her safety and well-being, the team swiftly arranged for an auto-rickshaw to convey her to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. This decision was crucial in mitigating potential delays in receiving medical treatment.

The Indian Navy later expressed its pride in the prompt rescue operation, asserting that this courageous effort underscores their unwavering dedication to serving the community and prioritizing public welfare. This incident not only highlights the readiness and response capabilities of the Indian Navy but also emphasizes their role in providing vital assistance during emergencies.

As the Bali Yatra festival approaches, the regional authorities are expected to enhance safety measures to prevent such accidents and ensure the well-being of visitors and residents alike.
