The Indian Naval Academy has congratulated Lieutenant Parul Singh for her remarkable achievement of securing 2nd position in the Surya Spiti Half Marathon, a gruelling 21.09 km race held at altitudes ranging from 3,201 to 3,684 meters. The event took place from 22–24 August during the 2nd edition of the Surya Spirit Challenge across the breathtaking yet demanding terrain of Kunzum La and Sumdo in Himachal Pradesh.
The marathon, starting at 3,201 meters and climbing up to 3,684 meters, tested the endurance of every participant, especially considering that the Indian Naval Academy itself sits at just 286 meters above sea level. Lt Parul’s achievement stands as a testament to her grit, hard training, and determination to push beyond limits.

For her unit and her family, this accomplishment is a matter of immense pride. They highlighted her unwavering dedication, calling this recognition a milestone that inspires many more to follow.
The Surya Spirit Challenge was not just a race, but a celebration of endurance, unity, and the human spirit against extreme conditions. The felicitation ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C Surya Command, who commended the courage and determination of all participants.
