Swift and courageous action by two Indian Army personnel saved the lives of a family of three after their car lost control and fell into a roadside ditch on the Jodhpur–Jaipur highway near Kaparda on Thursday morning.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8 a.m. when a car travelling towards Jaipur suffered a tyre burst, causing it to overturn and veer off the road. The vehicle was spotted by Captain Abhishek Choudhary and Naik Sri Ram, who were travelling in another car on the same route.
Without hesitation, the Army men stopped their vehicle and rushed to assist the trapped occupants — a man, his wife, and their toddler son. As the car doors were jammed, the officers, with the help of a local resident, broke open the doors to rescue the family.
Captain Choudhary said that the parents escaped unhurt as they were wearing seatbelts, while the child sustained minor injuries since he was not strapped in. After ensuring that local authorities and emergency services were alerted, the officers departed only after confirming that the family had received proper assistance.
Their timely intervention prevented a potential tragedy, exemplifying the Army’s ethos of service and courage beyond the call of duty.
