On the occasion of Diwali, Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, visited the Siachen Glacier to celebrate the festival with Indian Air Force and Indian Army personnel deployed in this strategically vital sector.
During his visit, Air Marshal Bharti interacted with the troops guarding the nationโs frontiers in extreme conditions, commending their courage, professionalism, and contribution in recent operations. He praised their unwavering dedication in maintaining operational readiness and safeguarding the nationโs sovereignty in the worldโs highest and most challenging battlefield.
The Air Marshal also extended his heartfelt Diwali greetings to the personnel and their families, acknowledging the sacrifices made by those serving far from home during the festival.
Later, Air Marshal Bharti visited Terchey village near Thoise, where he interacted with local residents and conveyed his Diwali wishes, reinforcing the bond between the armed forces and the local communities of Ladakh.
His visit symbolised the spirit of solidarity, service, and resilience, celebrating Diwali amidst the snow-clad peaks where Indiaโs defenders stand ever vigilant.
