Air Marshal Surat Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command (EAC), delivered an enlightening talk at the Army War College (AWC) for the participants of the Higher Command Course (HCC). The address focused on the theme of Air Operations in the Eastern Theatre, with special emphasis on capability development, evolving challenges, and the critical need for joint strategies to achieve mission success.
Drawing on his extensive operational experience, Air Marshal Surat Singh highlighted the strategic significance of the Eastern Theatre, which presents unique geographical, climatic, and operational complexities. He outlined the Indian Air Forceโs progressive capability enhancement initiatives, including the induction of advanced aircraft, precision weapons, integrated air defence systems, and modern surveillance platforms that have strengthened the forceโs deterrence and rapid response capability.

The Air Marshal underscored the importance of jointmanship and inter-service synergy between the Army, Navy, and Air Force in shaping integrated battle strategies for future conflicts. He called for greater coordination in planning, execution, and real-time information sharing to enhance operational efficiency and mission assurance in multi-domain warfare environments.

During the session, he also discussed emerging security dynamics, the role of technology, and the importance of adaptive leadership for higher commanders operating in complex and evolving threat scenarios.
