The programme, conducted jointly by Assam Rifles and We Care Skill Solutions an Imphal-based organisation specialising in skill development provided specialised training in Hospitality and Retail to 56 young participants. The trainees, comprising 18 boys and 30 girls, successfully completed a 12-week vocational course that significantly enhanced their employability and prepared them for careers in the service sector.

The felicitation event was graced by the DIG, Assam Rifles, and the Director of Gaurav Pradhan Foundation, a Ghaziabad-based NGO that financially supported the initiative. During the ceremony, participants received certificates from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and offer letters from prestigious employers, including The Leela Palace (Jaipur), Leela Ambience & Convention Centre (New Delhi), Sunday Hotel & Residences (Gurgaon), and Foodlink F&B Holdings Ltd. (Mumbai). The newly trained professionals will soon begin their employment journeys in Jaipur, Delhi, and Mumbai.

In his address, the DIG commended the participants for their determination and hard work, underscoring the transformative power of skill development in shaping futures. He praised the collaborative efforts of We Care Skill Solutions and the Gaurav Pradhan Foundation, and encouraged the youth to serve as “Brand Ambassadors” of Manipur’s rich culture and heritage.

This initiative marks the fourth edition of Assam Rifles’ Skill Development Programme since June 2024, through which around 200 young individuals have already secured gainful employment. The success of the programme reflects Assam Rifles’ steadfast commitment to fostering socio-economic development, enhancing livelihood opportunities, and empowering youth across the Northeast.

The 4th October ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of the trainees but also reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ enduring mission to build a skilled, self-reliant, and prosperous future for the region.
