Kohima, Nagaland: Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Spear Corps, visited the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) at Kohima to review the security situation and operational preparedness in Nagaland.
During the visit, the Corps Commander was briefed on the prevailing internal security environment, ongoing operations, and initiatives undertaken by the Assam Rifles to maintain peace and stability in the region. He appreciated the proactive measures taken by the formations in close coordination with civil administration and other security agencies.
Later, Lt Gen Pendharkar also visited the Sector Headquarters Assam Rifles at Lekhapani, Assam, where he interacted with officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and troops. He commended the high standards of professionalism, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment displayed by all ranks while performing challenging operational duties in difficult terrain and weather conditions.

The GOC lauded the efforts of the formations in enhancing combat readiness, intelligence synergy, and local engagement initiatives, which have significantly contributed to the maintenance of peace and stability across the North-Eastern region.
The visit reaffirmed the Armyโs commitment towards ensuring sustained peace and security in Nagaland and Assam through coordinated efforts, operational vigilance, and people-centric initiatives.
