Lt General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, visited the Mechanised Infantry Centre and School (MIRC) at Ahilyanagar to review the ongoing training activities and inspect the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the premier institution.
During his visit, the Army Commander interacted with officers, instructors, and training staff to gain first-hand insight into the innovative training methodologies being adopted to prepare future mechanised infantry soldiers for modern battlefield challenges. He commended distinguished individuals for their exemplary commitment, professionalism, and outstanding contribution to the institution’s success.
Addressing the personnel, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth emphasised the importance of sustaining high training standards, technological integration, and continuous innovation. The Mechanised Infantry Centre and School at Ahilyanagar serves as the cradle of mechanised warfare training, imparting tactical, technical, and leadership skills to officers and soldiers of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment. Through its advanced simulators, realistic combat drills, and modern infrastructure, MIRC continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of India’s mechanised forces — truly “forging the steel of tomorrow.”
