Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, laid a solemn wreath at Veer Smriti, paying heartfelt homage to the valiant Infantrymen who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The wreath-laying ceremony, held to commemorate Infantry Day, reflected deep respect and gratitude towards the soldiers whose courage and dedication safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Lt Gen Katiyar honoured the selfless service and indomitable spirit of the Infantry — the largest fighting arm of the Indian Army — acknowledging their unwavering commitment to protecting the nation in the harshest terrains and most challenging operational environments.
The ceremony at Veer Smriti served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by generations of Infantrymen and reaffirmed the Army’s resolve to uphold their legacy of valour, discipline, and duty to the nation.
