The event commenced with a ceremonial address highlighting the glorious journey of MNS since its inception in 1925. Honouring Commitment and Dedication

Speaking at the event, Maj Gen M.S. Gill lauded the exceptional contribution of the Nursing Officers, acknowledging their unwavering commitment, compassion, and professional excellence. He emphasised that MNS Officers have been the “backbone of medical services” in the armed forces — providing critical care in field hospitals, counter-insurgency areas, and peacekeeping missions while upholding the highest standards of medical ethics and dedication.

The GOC also highlighted how the selfless service of MNS personnel has strengthened the morale of troops and their families, contributing immensely to operational readiness and national security. He expressed gratitude for their sacrifices and relentless efforts, often carried out in challenging conditions and remote locations.

A Legacy of Compassion and Excellence

Since its establishment, the Military Nursing Service has evolved from a small group of nurses into a highly trained and professional force, equipped with advanced medical knowledge and field experience. MNS Officers have been at the forefront during wars, pandemics, and humanitarian crises — symbolising courage, resilience, and care under fire.

As the MNS steps into its second century, the celebrations at MH Dehradun served not only as a tribute to its glorious past but also as a reaffirmation of its mission to continue delivering excellence in military healthcare and serving the nation with honour and dedication.
