Reflecting its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, the Indian Armyโs Sapta Shakti Command has bagged the top honours in the Best Clean, Green & Sustainable Station Awards 2025. The stations at Bathinda, Sri Ganganagar, and Hisar emerged as shining examples of cleanliness, eco-conscious initiatives, and community-driven sustainability practices.

Recognising Excellence in Green Initiatives
The awards were presented by General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), to formations and stations that demonstrated exceptional performance in maintaining eco-friendly surroundings, effective waste management, energy conservation, and afforestation efforts.

Each winning station stood out for its innovative approach โ from water conservation and renewable energy usage to community participation in maintaining hygiene and greenery across cantonment areas.

Under the guiding theme โShining with Swachhata & Sustainabilityโ, the initiative aimed to inspire all Army formations to adopt sustainable living practices, minimise environmental footprints, and promote collective responsibility toward preserving nature.
