Dimapur, November 1, 2025 โ Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, interacted with the Course Members of the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, during their visit to Rangapahar Military Station. The interaction formed part of the DSSCโs study tour to enhance understanding of field formations and operational environments across Indiaโs diverse theatres.
Comprehensive Briefing on Spear Corps Operations
The delegation, comprising officers from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Civil Services, and Friendly Foreign Countries, was given a detailed briefing on the operational and logistics dimensions of the Spear Corps, the largest Corps of the Indian Army. The session highlighted the Corpsโ strategic significance in the northeastern region, its operational preparedness, and ongoing modernization efforts aimed at maintaining a robust defensive posture.

Promoting Jointness and Strategic Awareness
During the interaction, Lt Gen Pendharkar emphasized the importance of jointness among the three services and inter-agency coordination for effective national defence.
