Lt Gen HS Vandra, Chief of Staff, Sapta Shakti Command, conducted a comprehensive review of the Russell’s Vipers Assault Teams deployed under Chinar Corps during his visit to forward field formations in the Northern Command theatre. The visit, aimed at assessing operational readiness in one of the Army’s most sensitive and challenging sectors, highlighted the sustained commitment of frontline assault teams entrusted with high-risk, high-intensity tasks.
During the review, Lt Gen Vandra was briefed on the teams’ mission profile, deployment patterns, surveillance mechanisms and the tactical drills practiced to counter emerging threats in the region. He examined their preparedness across key operational domains, including rapid response capability, mobility in difficult terrain, integration of cutting-edge equipment and coordination with other operational elements of Chinar Corps.
Interacting with the troops, the Chief of Staff commended their professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to duty. He praised the assault teams for maintaining exceptional standards of readiness despite the demanding climatic and operational environment. Lt Gen Vandra exhorted them to remain vigilant, stay mentally and physically agile and continue reinforcing the high standards of operational excellence required in Northern Command’s dynamic security landscape.
