The India Level III Hospital (now Level II Plus) deployed with the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) has been conferred the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and Head of MONUSCO Unit Appreciation, recognising its exemplary professionalism, operational resilience, and outstanding contribution to the mission mandate.
The citation was received by Colonel Rajesh W Adhau during the Medal Day Parade held on December 29, 2025.

This rare honour follows the Force Commander’s Unit Citation awarded in March 2025, underscoring the unit’s sustained excellence. The recognition specifically acknowledges the hospital’s lifesaving medical care delivered under extreme conditions, including during the intense conflict in Goma, where Indian medical personnel continued operations despite heightened security challenges.
Officials said the award reaffirms India’s enduring legacy of medical excellence in United Nations peacekeeping, highlighting the Armed Forces Medical Services’ ability to deliver high-quality care, humanitarian support, and operational effectiveness in some of the world’s most demanding mission environments.
