Ravneet Kumar from Koilwar Nagar Panchayat, Bhojpur district, has brought pride to Bihar after being commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army. His achievement has sparked celebrations across his village, while his elder brother continues preparations for the defence examinations—inspired by Ravneet’s success.
Journey Marked by Discipline and Determination
The son of Jagannath Singh (Principal Assistant, Mental Health Institute, Koilwar) and Kiran Devi, Ravneet has been a bright student since childhood. Watching his elder brother attend Sainik School motivated Ravneet to follow the same path, laying a strong foundation for his military career.
Commissioned Through TES-46
Ravneet earned his commission via the Technical Entry Scheme (TES-46), a prestigious pathway for Class XII (Science) students that combines engineering education with military training, culminating in a Permanent Commission as a Lieutenant.
Rigorous Training Across Premier Institutions
- 2022: Joined Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya
- Subsequently: Trained at Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad
- December 13, 2025: Passed out as Lieutenant from Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
Following commissioning, he will undergo an additional year of advanced training at MCEME before assuming full operational responsibilities.
Family Pride and Local Celebrations
Ravneet’s return home triggered a wave of congratulations from locals and well-wishers. His father expressed confidence in all three sons, noting that while one has already achieved success, the elder brother’s defence examinations preparation continues with renewed motivation.
“Seeing my elder brother in Sainik School inspired me. That early motivation and disciplined training brought me here. I will now dedicate myself fully to serving the nation,” said Lt Ravneet Kumar.
