The Dakshin Bharat Area under Southern Command commemorated Vijay Diwas 2025 with solemn military reverence, paying tribute to the bravehearts of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War and celebrating India’s decisive victory.
Wreath-laying ceremonies were held at Veeragallu, the National Military Memorial in Bengaluru, and at the War Memorial in Chennai, showcasing Tri-Service jointmanship involving the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Indian Coast Guard.
The events were attended by serving personnel, veterans of all three services, Veer Naris, Veer Matas & Pitas, school children, and NCC cadets, highlighting strong military-civil engagement and inspiring the younger generation with the timeless values of valour, duty, and sacrifice.
The observances reaffirmed the enduring legacy of the 1971 victory and underscored the Indian Armed Forces’ steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation, upholding sovereignty, and serving with honour and dedication.
