Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), visited the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam on January 7, 2026, to review the Commandโs combat readiness and overall operational preparedness.

During the visit, the CNS interacted with Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (Eastern), and undertook a comprehensive review of key operational imperatives. Discussions covered preparedness across the maritime domain, progress of critical infrastructure projects, and capability enhancement initiatives aimed at strengthening the Navyโs operational edge on the eastern seaboard.

The CNS was also briefed on preparations for major upcoming engagements, including International Fleet Review 2026, Exercise MILAN 2026, and the IONS Conclave of Chiefs. These events are expected to enhance maritime cooperation, interoperability, and strategic engagement with regional and extra-regional navies.

Admiral Tripathi emphasised the importance of sustained mission readiness, robust infrastructure development, and seamless coordination as the Navy prepares to host high-profile multinational events. The visit reaffirmed the Indian Navyโs focus on safeguarding maritime security, ensuring operational preparedness, and strengthening partnerships across the Indo-Pacific.
