The Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 at Delhi Cantt on January 13, inspiring hundreds of young cadets drawn from across the country.

Addressing NCC cadets and officers, the CDS said it was a matter of pride to attend the RDC for the fourth consecutive year, noting the consistently high standards, enthusiasm, and visible growth in energy and patriotism among the cadets. Urging the youth to cultivate clarity of vision and strength of will, he remarked, โIf you take the right path, you reach the right destination. It is important to choose the right path today.โ
Sharing insights from his own professional journey, Gen Chauhan encouraged cadets to consider careers in the armed forces and contribute to building a Samridhh, Sashakt aur Surakshit Bharat by 2047. โYou are the future leaders of Viksit Bharat,โ he told the cadets, emphasising responsibility, discipline, and service to the nation.

Highlighting the significance of January, the CDS recalled key national observancesโNational Youth Day (January 12), Veteransโ Day (January 14), Army Day (January 15), Parakram Diwas (January 23), Republic Day (January 26), and Martyrsโ Day (January 30)โnoting that these milestones collectively celebrate Indiaโs values, sacrifice, and republican spirit.
Gen Chauhan appreciated the crisp Guard of Honour presented by Army, Navy, and Air Wing cadets, and lauded the melodious band display by cadets of Sainik School, Ghorakhal (Uttarakhand). He also commended the vibrant cultural programme and the socially themed Flag Area, which showcased diversity and civic awareness.

Impressed by demonstrations featuring aero and naval models, drone displays, and technical briefings, the CDS highlighted the cadetsโ discipline and growing technological prowess. Concluding his address, he urged cadets to act decisively in the presentโโdo not wait for tomorrowโโand to maintain a positive, optimistic outlook while pursuing their goals.
The visit reinforced the NCCโs role in nurturing disciplined, tech-aware, and value-driven youth poised to lead India into the future.
