As part of his ongoing official visit to the United Arab Emirates, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), interacted with Major General Staff Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander of the UAE Land Forces, reinforcing the growing defence partnership between India and the UAE.

During the interaction, both leaders held wide-ranging discussions focused on enhancing positive military engagement, expanding training convergence, and advancing bilateral defence cooperation. The talks reflected the shared commitment of the two armed forces to deepen professional military exchanges, interoperability, and mutual understanding in the face of evolving regional and global security challenges.

The engagement is aligned with Indiaโs broader strategic outreach to West Asia and underscores the strong momentum in IndiaโUAE defence relations, which have steadily expanded across areas such as joint exercises, training cooperation, capacity building, and institutional linkages.

As part of the visit, the COAS also visited the UAE Land Forces Museum, where he gained insights into the rich history, traditions, and military heritage of the UAE Land Forces. The visit highlighted the evolution of the UAEโs land forces and their role in safeguarding national security, while also strengthening people-to-people and military-to-military bonds.
General Dwivediโs engagements reaffirm Indiaโs commitment to building strong, trust-based defence partnerships with friendly nations and enhancing cooperation with the UAE as a key strategic partner in West Asia and the wider Indo-Pacific security architecture.
