The Leadership & Management Course commenced on 13 February 2026 at the Junior Leaders Academy (JLA), Bareilly, marking another significant step in strengthening joint military professionalism and leadership development.
Junior Leaders from the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force are attending the course, along with 25 participants from friendly foreign countries including Sri Lanka, Maldives and Ivory Coast. The multinational composition of the course reflects India’s growing emphasis on defence cooperation, military diplomacy and shared learning with partner nations.

The course curriculum is designed to enhance core competencies in leadership and management, personnel effectiveness, unit administration and tactical acumen. Special focus has been laid on contemporary and emerging domains such as drone warfare, joint integrated operations and grey zone warfare, aligned with the evolving character of modern conflict.
The programme aims to strengthen jointness, interoperability and professional excellence among junior leaders, equipping them with the skills and perspective required to operate effectively in complex, multi-domain and coalition environments.
