Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, visited Pangode Military Station where he felicitated distinguished veterans with the Veteran Achievers Award for their exemplary contributions to nation-building across technology, healthcare, literature, arts, sports and social service.

Paying rich tributes to their enduring spirit of service beyond uniform, the Army Commander lauded the veterans’ pivotal role in strengthening society and advancing the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted how veterans continue to inspire through leadership, integrity and selfless commitment long after active service.

During the visit, Lt Gen Seth interacted closely with veterans and reviewed key welfare, pension, healthcare and employment-related concerns. He also visited the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic, Thiruvananthapuram, where he assessed healthcare facilities, appreciated best practices and innovations for beneficiary welfare, and commended the medical staff for their dedicated service.

The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the well-being, dignity and continued empowerment of its veteran community, underscoring the Army’s resolve to stand by those who have served the nation with distinction.
