A seven-member delegation of the 8th Central Pay Commission, led by Justice (Retd) Ranjana Prakash Desai, visited the National Defence Academy (NDA) on May 5, 2026, to gain firsthand insight into the academy’s rigorous training environment.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the comprehensive training curriculum followed at NDA, which combines demanding standards of physical fitness, high levels of mental resilience, and a strong emphasis on intellectual development. The programme is designed to shape well-rounded future leaders of the armed forces.
Justice Desai interacted with cadets, including female cadets, and discussed issues related to equal opportunities and gender equality within the armed forces. She encouraged them to uphold excellence, discipline, and commitment both during training and in their future careers.
The visit provided the Commission with valuable exposure to the unique challenges and standards associated with military training, contributing to a better understanding of service conditions and requirements of defence personnel.
The interaction reaffirmed the importance of nurturing capable, resilient, and inclusive leadership within India’s armed forces, aligned with evolving societal and operational expectations.
