Captain Kulvinder Singh Bali assumed command of INS Dronacharya, the Gunnery and Missile training school of the Indian Navy located at Fort Kochi, from Commodore Manav Sehgal, VSM, on May 14, 2026.
Prior to taking over the prestigious appointment, Capt Bali served as the Commanding Officer of the Base Depot Ship INS Gomantak at Goa Naval Area.

An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and a second-generation Gunnery specialist, Capt Bali was commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 2004.

The officer is also a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, and the Army War College, Mhow.

During his naval career, he has commanded several ships including INS Kora, INS Ajay, and XFAC 83, gaining extensive operational and leadership experience.
INS Dronacharya plays a crucial role in training naval personnel in advanced gunnery, missile operations, and combat systems, contributing significantly to the operational capability of the Indian Navy.
