The Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, is set to host the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the Spring Term 2026 on 28 May 2026, marking a proud and defining moment in the lives of young trainees who are set to be commissioned as officers in the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and maritime forces of friendly foreign countries.
The ceremony will be graced by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, who will attend as the Chief Guest and Reviewing Officer. His presence will add special significance to the occasion, which represents the culmination of months of rigorous military, academic, physical and leadership training at one of India’s premier military institutions.
The Passing Out Parade is one of the most cherished traditions in the armed forces, symbolising the transformation of cadets from trainees into commissioned officers. The participation of foreign trainees also reflects the Indian Naval Academy’s contribution to strengthening international maritime partnerships. By training officers from friendly nations, India continues to reinforce bonds of trust, interoperability and cooperation with partner maritime forces.
The event will be attended by senior officers of the defence forces, foreign Military Attaches, proud parents and family members of the cadets. Also present will be the instructors and mentors of INA, whose guidance and dedication have played a crucial role in shaping the trainees into future leaders of maritime forces.
