A valedictory function for eight graduating officers of No. 46 Ground Instructors’ Training Course (Officers) was conducted at the Ground Instructors’ School at Air Force Station Tambaram on May 16, 2026.
The course was designed to train officers from various branches of the Indian Air Force as Qualified Ground Instructors (QGIs), equipping them with advanced instructional skills, curriculum design techniques, training administration practices, and modern teaching methodologies.

The newly trained instructors are expected to serve as force multipliers in imparting Professional Military Education to air warriors, thereby contributing towards enhanced operational preparedness and capability development within the IAF.
Air Commodore Tapan Sharma, Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Tambaram, attended the event as the Reviewing Officer and presented certificates to all graduating officers.

He also awarded trophies to course toppers for excellence in academics, instructional skills, outdoor training, and overall merit. A trainee officer from a friendly foreign country was presented with an Indian Air Force souvenir during the ceremony.
While addressing the gathering, Air Commodore Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Ground Instructors’ School team led by Group Captain Mukesh Kumar Chauhan for maintaining high standards of instructional training and strengthening the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force through quality military education.
