Interacting with commanders and troops at forward locations, the Northern Army Commander commended their professionalism and dedication while emphasising the importance of sustained alertness and mission-oriented execution. He underscored the need for seamless coordination among all stakeholders to effectively address evolving security challenges and ensure a secure environment for pilgrims.

The Army Commander highlighted the significance of maintaining high operational readiness and vigilance throughout the duration of the yatra, given the challenging terrain and dynamic security environment in the region.

The operation involves extensive coordination with civil administration, central armed police forces and other agencies to facilitate the safe movement and welfare of devotees.

The Indian Army reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all pilgrims participating in the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026. Through close synergy with all stakeholders, advanced security measures and sustained operational preparedness, the Army continues to play a vital role in ensuring the successful conduct of one of India’s most significant religious pilgrimages.

The visit reinforced Northern Command’s focus on vigilance, preparedness and integrated security efforts aimed at safeguarding pilgrims and maintaining stability across the region.
