In a major boost to India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities, Adani Defence and Aerospace laid the foundation stone for a ₹2,500 crore missile manufacturing facility in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, on 6 July 2026.
The foundation stone was laid by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, who described the project as a significant milestone in the state’s industrial and economic development.
According to the company, the upcoming facility will bridge a long-standing gap in India’s defence supply chain by integrating missile system assembly with the production of critical components and materials. The project is expected to enable the Indian Armed Forces to induct indigenous missile systems at scale while strengthening the country’s self-reliance in defence production.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the establishment of the plant would attract large-scale investment to the region, create substantial employment opportunities and position Madhya Pradesh among the country’s leading states in the defence manufacturing sector.
The missile manufacturing complex is expected to become an important part of India’s expanding defence industrial base, supporting the government’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by enhancing domestic capabilities in advanced missile technologies and strategic defence systems.
