The 130 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological Kumaon has received a Letter of Appreciation from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for its outstanding and dedicated contribution to environmental conservation, afforestation, water conservation and public awareness initiatives across the Kumaon region.
The appreciation recognises the sustained work of the 130 Eco Task Force (ETF), which operates in remote and environmentally sensitive forest areas of Kumaon. According to the letter, the unit has made significant contributions to tree plantation, wildlife conservation, eco-development, pasture development, soil and water conservation and plastic-free campaigns, while also working to strengthen environmental awareness among local communities.
The 130 Eco Task Force has undertaken initiatives aimed at improving the region’s green cover and protecting its fragile ecosystems.
