Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command, interacted with the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Headquarters 101 Area, at Shillong as part of efforts to strengthen jointness and enhance operational readiness.
The interaction focused on issues of mutual interest concerning the Indian Air Force and Army, with discussions centred on improving coordination, operational synergy and the effective utilisation of capabilities in the region.
The engagement assumes significance in view of the challenging operational environment of the Northeast, where effective coordination between the Services is essential for maintaining a high level of preparedness and ensuring a coordinated response to emerging security requirements.
Air Marshal Walia and the GOC discussed measures to further strengthen inter-Service cooperation and enhance the integration of operational capabilities. Greater jointness and seamless coordination between formations of the two Services remain important for effective planning and execution of operations across domains.
