Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, visited the NCC Directorate Uttarakhand to review the Directorate’s institutional performance, training framework and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the NCC’s presence across the state.
During the visit, Lt Gen Virendra Vats was briefed on the Directorate’s training activities, organisational performance and long-term roadmap for expanding the NCC footprint in Uttarakhand. Senior officers presented updates on measures being undertaken to enhance training standards, improve institutional capacity and strengthen cadet development programmes.
A key focus of the review was the development of infrastructure and capacity enhancement initiatives designed to support the growing requirements of the NCC. Discussions also covered the proposal to establish an NCC Academy in Uttarakhand, which is expected to further strengthen training capabilities and provide advanced learning opportunities for cadets and NCC personnel in the region.
The Director General assessed various initiatives aimed at improving institutional effectiveness and expanding the organisation’s outreach among the youth. He emphasised the importance of continuously upgrading training infrastructure and adopting forward-looking measures to prepare cadets for future leadership responsibilities.
Interacting with officers and civil staff, Lt Gen Virendra Vats appreciated their professionalism, commitment and dedication towards nurturing disciplined, responsible and patriotic young citizens. He commended the Directorate for its efforts in maintaining high standards of training and organisational excellence.
