Major General Sarabjit Singh Bakshi, SM, VSM, Commandant, NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee, visited the ongoing Combined Annual Training Camp of 2 Maharashtra Artillery Battery NCC at NCC OTA, Kamptee.
During the visit, Maj Gen Sarabjit Singh Bakshi witnessed NCC cadets undergoing a range of training activities designed to develop their physical fitness, leadership abilities, discipline and teamwork. He was briefed by the Camp Officer-in-Charge on the conduct of the camp and the various training activities being undertaken by the cadets.
The Commandant also interacted with Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) and instructor staff involved in conducting the camp. The interaction provided an opportunity to review the training environment and understand the efforts being undertaken by the instructional staff to provide cadets with meaningful and professionally structured exposure.
Addressing the NCC cadets, Maj Gen Sarabjit Singh Bakshi highlighted the enduring values that form the foundation of the NCC. He emphasised the importance of discipline, leadership, character, teamwork and selfless service in shaping young people into confident and responsible citizens.
He exhorted the cadets to make full use of the training opportunities available to them and continuously strive for excellence. He encouraged them to develop a strong sense of responsibility, confidence and commitment while carrying forward the values instilled through NCC training.
The Commandant also underlined the importance of teamwork and collective effort, noting that these qualities are essential not only in military environments but also in professional and civic life. He encouraged the cadets to support one another and develop the ability to work effectively as members of a team.
The Combined Annual Training Camp provides cadets with an opportunity to experience structured training and develop qualities such as discipline, leadership and resilience. Such camps form an important component of NCC activities by complementing classroom education with practical exposure and group-based learning.
Maj Gen Sarabjit Singh Bakshi urged the cadets to emerge as confident, responsible and committed citizens who can make meaningful contributions to society and the nation. He emphasised that the values acquired through NCC should extend beyond the training environment and guide the cadets throughout their personal and professional lives.
The visit reaffirmed the NCC’s continued focus on youth development and nation-building by nurturing leadership, character, discipline and a spirit of selfless service among young citizens.
