Major General H S Mavi, Inspector General, Assam Rifles (North), visited Dessoi Post, Longtho, Mokokchung, Nagaland, on September 25, 2026, to review troop preparedness, deployment, administration and welfare.
During the visit, Maj Gen H S Mavi was briefed on the prevailing security situation, deployment, intelligence inputs and coordination with the civil administration. The briefing covered key aspects of the formation’s operational preparedness and its deployment in the area.
Maj Gen H S Mavi emphasised the importance of maintaining vigilance, discipline and professionalism among the troops. He also stressed the need for effective area domination and continued engagement with local communities.
The IG Assam Rifles (North) reviewed the preparedness of the troops and the arrangements relating to their administration and welfare during the visit. The emphasis on vigilance and area domination formed part of the operational focus during the interaction.
He also highlighted the importance of sustained coordination with the civil administration and continued engagement with locals while carrying out operational responsibilities in the area.

The visit provided an opportunity to review the deployment and preparedness of Assam Rifles personnel in Nagaland, along with the operational, administrative and welfare aspects of the troops deployed at Dessoi Post, Longtho.
